Here, we focus on applying the teachings of Jesus Christ in practical and meaningful ways to create a more successful and spiritually centered life. We are part of a spiritual movement for individuals who are growing, seeking, unfolding, and becoming all they are meant to be—recognizing and experiencing the presence and power of God within and around them.
We honor each person’s spiritual journey as an open-ended search for Truth. We believe that every individual has the capacity to realize and express their divine potential.
Unity Boston is more than a church, a school, and a religion—it is a way of life. We teach you how to think rather than telling you what to think. With no required creed or rigid dogma, we encourage exploration of Unity teachings through your own spiritual understanding, nurtured by prayer and meditation.
Unity Boston’s Basic Principles
Spiritual empowerment through personal responsibility is taught and encouraged as a path to a more fulfilled life. The five basic principles that make up the Unity Boston belief system are:
- 1. There is one Presence and one Power active in the universe and in our lives: God the Good, omnipotent.
- 2. The spirit of God lives within each person; therefore, we are inherently good.
- 3. We create our lives through the power of our thoughts and feelings.
- 4. We align with God and access Christ's power through affirmative prayer and meditation.
- 5. Knowing these principles is not enough. We transform our lives by putting them into practice.
